Cranberry Lake
The Hamlet of Cranberry Lake is located in the Town of Clifton in the southeastern corner of St. Lawrence County. The lake itself is situated on the east branch of the Oswegatchie River and is the third largest in the Adirondack Park and is named for the large cranberry bogs that it once contained. As a "Forever Wild" community there is much to enjoy here. You can traverse through the "Cranberry Lake 50" which is 50 miles of hiking trails completely circumnavigating Cranberry Lake, one of longest in the Park. Enjoy a stay at the local campsites or spend a night in one of the 8 rooms at the Stone Manor Diner and Motel. For hospitality, you can't beat the Stone Manor which also serves up delicious homemade baked goods and ice cream year round. If you are in need of a gift or just a few things, stop by the Lakeside General Store, which in addition to supplying general grocery items also has a lovely selection of Adirondack souvenirs. A newly renovated playground equipped with a beautiful new pavilion are just behind the Clifton Community Center in the center of town, allowing you to stretch your legs and enjoy a picnic lunch with family and friends.
